Barton Pavilion

The community in Barton, Oxford, has benefitted from a new Pavilion, housing new sports changing facilities, bar area, an events hall and toilets. The previous Pavilion was replaced by Oxford City Council due to its poor state of repair which has on occasion caused the cancelling of training sessions due to malfunctioning utilities.

The new modular buildings are built to Sport England standard and provide much needed changing facilities for local sports teams like Barton United FC and Headington Amateurs FC. The other half of Barton Pavilion also acts as a social venue which is used by the community and is available for hire.

The choice of modular buildings allowed the new Pavilion to be constructed and installed quickly and ensures flexibility for future use.

“We are delighted that the Barton Pavilion has now been completed. It has taken some time to get to this stage and the facility was quite old and dilapidated.

“With the assistance of The Clarkson Alliance the project was finished in August 2011 within budget and on time.

“The modular built facility offers the flexibility required by future land developments while giving the stakeholders all of the facilities that they require to fulfil league guidelines and community requests.” – Phil Jones, Community Development Manager – Oxford City Council.
