Graham Clarkson
Graham studied construction management and by 28 headed a regional office with an annual turnover of £50 million. He chaired the influential New Engineering Contract user group from 2000 to 2003, when he set up The Clarkson Alliance based on the firm belief that ‘while projects deliver facilities, those facilities must deliver tangible results to the client.’
Julian Bullen
Julian is a civil engineer by background and has particular expertise in the health and leisure sector. His landmark projects include the flagship Holmes Centre health club in Chigwell, Essex, now part of the Virgin Active chain. He recently returned from a year’s sabbatical in Mozambique where he assisted a fishing community with housing and agricultural projects.
Neil Wood
Neil has an extensive background in Quantity Surveying, with over 30 years experience in the construction industry. For the past 11 years he has specialised in projects let on nec forms of contract, in the fields of Industrial, Leisure and Housing. ‘I particularly enjoy the variety of project and scope for detailed analysis associated with construction.’ Neil also holds a NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Construction Health & Safety.
Derryn Cope
Derryn’s experience managing projects in an airport environment underlines her belief that involving stakeholders is critical to the success of a project. ‘Projects are a team event,’ she says. ‘I enjoy the diverse challenges of PM such as creating a clearly defined project brief aimed at an outcome to match the customer’s business case’.
Hugh Manson
Hugh uses his wide experience to support his project management colleagues and clients by keeping them fully informed on the cost status of their projects. This enables our clients to make informed choices at the right times. Hugh’s role is also to ensure that NEC cost management disciplines are adhered to and compensation events are fairly assessed.
Mat Stoddart
Mat graduated from Oxford Brookes University with an honours degree in construction management. ‘I am enjoying the challenge of applying knowledge I gained at university to practical projects,’ he says. ‘I believe in good communications skills helping to achieve project deliverables, as well as embracing new technologies to assist in both the management and construction of projects’.
Po Yung
Po’s role involves Marketing, Business Development and sales support as well as running The Clarkson Alliance’s office. “What I enjoy about seeing the projects develop is not only the physical transformation that takes place but also seeing how the different groups of people benefit from the work that’s done; whether it is those that are working at the facility or the community and others who use it. It’s great seeing their reactions.”
