The Clarkson Alliance is helping local authorities match the standard of their leisure centres and sports facilities with those in the private health club sector.

At Feltham Airparcs Leisure Centre in west London, for example, we’re helping to create a ‘leisure hub’ by building a brand new, 300m2 library and joining it to revamped leisure facilities with a double-height, dual entrance. A massive upgrade will see the existing facility transformed into a state-of-the-art, 100 station gym; old tennis courts will be upgraded and covered to allow year-round use, and there will be a smart new café and social area.

This is all possible because of a strategic partnership between TCA and Fusion Lifestyle, a non-profit distributing trust that manages leisure facilities for local authorities. By encouraging more people to make use of the facilities and increasing revenue, Fusion is able to cut its management fees, and the authority can use that money to modernise and improve its leisure centres and community halls.

Fusion has appointed TCA to design and project manage capital improvement works in the London Boroughs of Croydon, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Southwark, as well as Milton Keynes, Tunbridge Wells and Leatherhead, enabling those authorities to offer high-quality fitness activities.
